40 YEARS PERSONAL PRACTICE

My passion for yoga began in the early 1970s.  I will never forget the profound sense of physical and emotional well-being I experienced after the first yoga class I attended – “I literally felt I was walking on air and was hooked from that moment on.”

My love of yoga ignited interest in other healing modalities; aromatherapy, reflexology, reiki and massage and I later became a therapist.

As well as working in the adult education sector, private and public classes over the years I have acquired a wealth of experience teaching yoga in many diverse sectors of the community such as Schools, Colleges, Hospitals, High Security Mental Institutions and Prison.

It has been my intention to investigate and discover a multitude of disparate elements of yoga and I have travelled around the world and studied at the Pattabi Jois Shala and with Sheshadri in Mysore, India.  I have attended workshops with John Scott, David Swenson, TKS Desikachar, Brian Cooper, Godfrey Deveraux, Kausthub Desikachar and Manju Jois to name but a few and have also studied at many ashrams, retreats and temples of different spiritual lineages including a Tibetan Buddhist Monastery in Nepal in 2010 where I taught English and Yoga to the young monks.

“This journey of self-development in Yoga has taught me many lessons and realisation of spiritual truths.  I feel therefore, compelled to teach from direct experience and from the heart; authentically, passionately and with compassion,  in the spirit of Yoga.”

You see things: and you say “Why?”
But I dream things that never were;
And I say
“why not?”
– George Bernard Shaw
