History Of Yoga

Yoga is one of the oldest sciences which originated in India over 3,000 years ago. It is a non competitive form of exercise encouraging bodily strength and flexibility. It builds physical health through the practice of a system of exercise called asanas or postures which keep the body cleansed and fit.

The postures work systematically on all areas of the body and are designed to purify, stretch and tone, keeping blood circulation and all internal process functioning smoothly.

Breathing techniques help us to harness the body’s vital energy and control the mind by regulating the flow of breath. When the breath flows steadily with ease the mind is calm  which leads to a state of quietness.

Relaxation brings peace to the mind and body and balance to all areas of life. Yoga is for everyone at every age and ability. It is a system which, with regular practice will promote good health, endurance, vitality and well being.
